Tecno Camon C9 receives first software update

The Tecno Camon C9, a smartphone which was released to the Nigerian market a few weeks back, has received it’s first software update.

Going by the description on the software update, it’s more like a security update courtesy of Google. Google sends out monthly security patches to it’s nexus and Android One smartphone and it’s nice to see that the Tecno Camon C9, which is running a HiOS customized Android 6.0 marshmallow OS, is actually getting the monthly security patch.

Perhaps, it’s a step in the right direction. Who knows, maybe, just maybe, the Camon C9 smartphone may get the Android 7.0 Nougat OS when it becomes available.
Another fix or adjustment the update brings about is the latest GPRS parameters. The beauty make up effect for selfie lovers is also getting a slight improvement amongst others.
The size of the update is around 472MB and if you’ve rooted your Camon C9 smartphone, you may want to think twice or thrice before choosing to update.
To be on the safer side, you should do a full back up of your tecno Camon c9 smartphone to an external SD card before upgrading. Of course, that’s for those who already rooted their device.
